Smart Swaps (Part 2)

Olive Oil

A staple in the Mediterranean diet, extra virgin olive oil is celebrated for its heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and powerful antioxidants. Use it as a finishing oil for salads, drizzling over vegetables, or as a dipping sauce for whole-grain bread. Extra virgin olive oil is less processed and retains more of its natural goodness.

Ghee

Ghee, or clarified butter, is a suitable alternative for those who enjoy the rich flavor of butter but are looking for a lactose-free option. During the clarification process, milk solids are removed, leaving behind pure butterfat. Ghee has a higher smoke point than regular butter, making it an excellent choice for sautéing and frying. Its distinct nutty flavor can add a gourmet touch to both sweet and savory dishes.
