Join The Club (Part 1)

We’ve all experienced the ups and downs of weight loss and exercise. It’s very easy to lose focus and fall into old habits. Having a good support system provides a host of benefits in helping keep you focused on your journey. The next few posts will focus on the advantages of being part of a fitness community; but first, let’s outline different ways a person can join others in pursuing their fitness goals.

Joining a gym can be a good way to motivate yourself (especially if you’re motivated not to waste your hard-earned money!) and to feel like part of a larger community. But not everyone has the time or the means to take advantage of everything a gym has to offer. There are many inexpensive and even free apps such as Strava, MyFitnessPal, Fitbit, and others, that will connect you with people with similar goals for encouragement, motivation, and sometimes some healthy competition!
